Great post. I would also always recommend working with a trainer or following a program as there is so much to learn in strength training including good form and how to progress.

I’m loving your Substack! As a 44 year old who does strength training with 10-15 lb dumbbells several times a week, I’m wondering how to decide if/when to incorporate a barbell with weights into my routine. Any recommendations on what should factor into this decision?
